One of Evelyn's favorite memories is sitting around a big table in front of the fireplace doing homework, reading, and having whatever snacks were available. * Mary Margaret remembers all the doll clothes Grandmother made, her apricot fried pies, the wine she drank at night (for medicinal purposes only, from a juice glass, bottle hidden in the back of her closet), and that Bob was her favorite! * Linda remembers her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls. * Terry remembers her Christmas fruit cake (anyone got the recipe?), pre-testing Thanksgiving pecan pie, and sitting on her front stoop at sundown while she took her glass of medicine (wine). * Turtle murder!!!! Mary Margaret remembers going to a pond somewhere to check the trot line -- there was a huge turtle on the line, so Grandmother trapped it under a washtub, got a hammer (from where?), and beat the turtle to death! * James shot a possum on the back fence and Grandmother cooked it the next day! (MM, Bob, Jim, and Joe all remember this.) * she made Jim and Joe share bath water AND * Bob was her favorite!
