Holiday Poetry by L. B. Strawn
Welcome, holiday traveler. You have reached the section of my realm containing poetry by L.B. A talented writer, I thank L.B. for entering. May L.B.'s holiday season be merry and bright.
Have Joy
Christ didn't come to earth
To brighten one special day,
But to shine in every hour
In a very special way.
So, may your life have joy
Both now, and for always.
Each day that you live,
Not just on holidays.
Man's Time for Giving
Christmas is man's time for giving;
Tradition has made it so.
But, each day is a time for living---
And giving is a part of life, we know.
Man, by tradition, has pre-empted God's law
Of goodness and giving, day by day.
In giving of self, there is no flaw--
In giving of self, love is here to stay.
In man's rush to gain for himself
He has lost that feeling, so divine.
He has put true caring up on a shelf
In order to gain "what is mine".
Giving has become too commercial,
Not with feeling---not from the heart.
Somewhere there must be a reversal!
To give of ourselves, we must start.
