Badminton this is the shuttle!!
Badminton is an indoor racket sport, but unlike all other racket sports uses a shuttlecock (shuttle) instead of a ball. A shuttle has two parts, the head and the feathers. The head is usually made out of cork while the feathers may be either real feathers or plastic. The racket is around 65cm long with a head approximately 22cm wide. Rackets tend to be made from steel, aluminium, or graphite, with top quality graphite rackets weighing approximately 90gms. The racket is used to strike the head part of the shuttle. Badminton is played on a court that is 6.1m (20') wide, 13.4m (44') long. The court has a net whose top is 1.524m (5') above the surface of the court, and divides the court in two. Competitive badminton has three basic variations, singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. Singles is contested by one player at either end; doubles is contested by two players at either end; mixed doubles is the same as doubles, but with one person of each sex on either side. Because of the light racket and the variable speed of the shuttle, badminton is a game that can be enjoyed by people of any age or ability.
Perhaps I'll put a pic of the racket up later!
