Free of the bed,
Free of the pills,
Free of the blankets
Of when I was ill,
Free of the pain,
Free of the memories,
Free of the knowledge
that I will be gone,
Free of the sickness,
Free of the illness,
Free of the cancer
that took me from here,
Free of the pain of knowing
that I will cease to be,
But not Free, never Free,
of the pain of losing my family.
