Membership in the Foundation offers Support and Member Services.
| Support Service:
|
- Members who need trauma counseling as a result of wartime experiences, are helped and
directed to qualified trauma councilors. Regular informal meetings with other members are
also part of the healing process.
- The Share & Support group of the Foundation encourages regular contact within small
groups of members who are geographically close to each other. This includes support in
cases of illness or bereavement.
- Those members who require it, will be contacted on a regular basis by phone or with
personal visits, particularly those who are shut-ins.
- The Foundation will provide financial support to worthwhile causes, subject to members
approval.
| Advice Service:
|
- Through meetings or the Newsletter "Tempo Dulu", members are able to obtain
information on benefits under Dutch or Canadian rules.
- Many members have important artifacts and documents relating to the former Dutch East
Indies, now Indonesia, which they may wish to have preserved. The Foundation, while not
itself in a position to store these articles, has contacts with universities, libraries
and museums who are in a position to preserve and exhibit these articles or use them for
their research. Please contact the Foundation for information.
- Through the Newsletter "Tempo Dulu", information on a wide range of topics,
such as estate planning, wills preparation etc., is regularly available. Here again, the
Foundation only provides information and direction to the members to obtain the necessary
assistance.

- The membership is spread throughout North America, with concentrations of members in
British Columbia, Ontario and California. The Foundation provides information to the
members to enable them to contact fellow members in their area.
- The Foundation encourages and funds any group of members who wish to organize
commemoration services in their area on the 15th August annually, every five
years or every decade since the end of the war on 15th August 1945.
- The Foundation advocates regular contact with the members through lunches, meetings,
pick-nicks, pot-luck suppers etc. At least annually, the Foundation has an annual
membership meeting to give the members an opportunity in person or in writing to voice
concerns, provide ideas and to elect the executive. This meeting is generally held in the
fall in British Columbia, Canada.
