BRANCH RIVER THEATRE WILL BE HOLDING AUDITIONS FOR “ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST” ON MARCH 19 & 21 FROM 7-9 P.M.
Branch River Theatre will be conducting auditions on March 19 (basement) & 21 (auditorium), 2007, 7-9 p.m. at the Community House of Marlborough, Rte. 101, Marlborough, NH for their fourth and final show of the 2006-2007 season entitled “One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest” by Dale Wasserman, adapted from the Ken Kesey novel and directed by Heather Morrison.
About the play: In order to shorten his jail sentence, thinking it's the easy way out, charming Randall McMurphy opts for time in a mental institution. He soon learns his mistake when he butts head with the rigid and intimidating head Nurse Ratched. But, in his short time at the institution, his impact on his fellow “inmates” has been profound, accomplishing things the medical profession could not. A presumed deaf and dumb Indian has begun to talk, introverted inmates come out of their shells, he stages a revolt among the staff and inmates to watch the World Series, and arranges a midnight party complete with booze and hookers. Things take a dramatic and violent turn with the final confrontation between Nurse Ratched and McMurphy …
