Lord,

Lately, I've heard a lot about the Terry Fox run, and to be quite honest, I've tried to close my eyes and ears to this information.

As far as I'm concerned, this run is about cancer, and cancer is about disease, and this fills me with fear, anger, and sadness, and.....I don't want to feel this.

Lord, somehow, if You could just help me to get past the thoughts of cancer, to what this run is really about - BECAUSE IT IS ABOUT LOVE.

It is about finding within ourselves the love, strength, and courage that Terry Fox had. The love that made Terry stand up and choose to make a difference - and that, even in the midst of his own struggle with cancer - he chose to help others.

Terry never did finish his walk, and that is why it is up to us to finish it for him.

Lord, we all know people who have cancer, are in remission, or are recovering. They are people we love, and this is one way of helping them.

HELP US TO EXAMINE OUR HEARTS A LITTLE MORE CLOSELY, TO SEE IF OUR LOVE IS CALLING US FORTH TO RUN, OR EVEN HELP OUT.

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! 

WE CAN HEAL OUR WORLD.
