Dearest Lord,
We gather together today to make extremely
important decisions! Today we decide who will
represent us - the (name of School) body - on next
year's student council.
It is not a popularity contest!
It is not
a decision based on
'who looks the best,
has the nicest clothes,
and has the most friends.'Lord, today we pray that Your spirit of truth and wisdom will flow through our hearts. May we listen carefully to the speeches of each student candidate, with a clear and open mind. May we choose the person who best reflects our school goals, and who we feel will work extremely hard to serve us on next year's student council.
Lord, we invite You to bless this Assembly, and guide each one of us in these important decisions. We also ask that You bless the students who have been acclaimed in their positions ,for we trust that they will do their best for us. May next year's student council be filled with the love, compassion, and wisdom of God.
We ask all this in Jesus' name.Amen
