Lord,
something happened yesterday, and we come to You today
for guidance.
Yesterday a few lockers were
broken into - a coat was stolen, wallets were taken,
as well as many other valuables. The victims of the
break-ins were left shaken, frightened, confused and
angry. They were left without any money, no I.D., and
one student did not even have a coat to wear home.
They couldn't understand WHY this had happened to
them, and they were frightened that their things were
stolen by someone they know.
We pray today, Lord, for the students
whose lockers were broken into. We pray that You will
wipe their tears, and hold them close to Your Heart,
as they deal with their hurt and anger.
Lord, we also pray for the people who did
the stealing, even though it is hard to do so.
WHY DID THEY DO IT, LORD?
WAS IT FOR FUN?
A BET?
....BECAUSE THEY WERE BROKE?
.... OR , WAS IT
BECAUSE OF A RECESSIONS, THAT THEY WERE POOR, AND
NEEDED MONEY TO SURVIVE?
What they did was wrong, and we may never
know their reasons, but we still pray for them. We
ask, Lord, that they become like the thief on the
Cross, hanging beside Jesus, on the day He died. The
thief asked Jesus to remember Him, and Jesus forgave
the thief, and promised that they would be together
in Paradise.
May they come to realize that what they
did was wrong, and may they reach out for
forgiveness.
May we also be there to help them.
Guide them, Lord, along the path of truth
and compassion, as we pray today for the students who
are grappling with the harsh truth of having their
lockers broken into.
Amen.
