Jesus said, 'YOU DID NOT CHOOSE ME, NO, I CHOSE YOU, AND COMMISSIONED
YOU TO GO OUT AND BEAR FRUIT, FRUIT THAT WILL LAST.' (John l5-l6)
Lord, we the (name of school) staff, give thanks today for the commissioning
of each one of us to the Holy and Sacred Ministry of Teaching.
We look to You, Lord, as the Divine Teacher, our Eternal Teacher, who
guides us daily in our classrooms, as we strive to further reveal Your
Great Love and Your Gospel Teachings in our subject areas - be it Math,
Science, or Music.
May we strive to teach as You did, Lord, with compassion and gentleness,
and at times with firmness - always calling forth the 'goodliness and Godliness'
of each student.
Grant us divine patience, as we also strive to reach beyond the surfaces
of the young people, and may we never give up on them, even when they have
given up on themselves.
May we plant seeds that will bear fruit - eternal fruit - that will
last a lifetime in the hearts of our (name School) students.
May we go forth today
- united as one (name of School) staff
- renewed
and enthusiastic as we strive even more to bring Christ alive in our classrooms,
in our halls, in our cafeteria, in our gym, and throughout our whole world.
