Dear Lord,
Today we invite You to guide us,
for we definitely need Your help with a
serious problem in our School.
Lately, it seems that a lot of
people are being hurt! Students have been
found crying, in various parts of our School!
They have been hurt by racial and sexual
comments, that been directed at them.
A few students even considered
taking their own lives, because their pain
was so severe. They are left wondering - what
did they do, to cause this name calling, and
why would people who they consider their
friend, be calling them names?
Lord, the people who are doing the
name calling, say they're joking!! They say
it's just in fun! They say they don't mean
it!
Meanwhile, tears are being shed,
and people are being hurt!
Lord, there is a fine line between
teasing and hurting others. Our High School
should be a place for everyone to feel free,
happy and at peace.
Please help us to guard our words,
to be more sensitive, compassionate, and less
cruel.
Help us to realize that what we
say in jest, has the power to hurt and devastate others.
"Consider it
all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,
knowing that the testing of your faith produces
endurance." James 1:2-3
Amen
