Shogun Bafreez, the chief of staff of the Pars Royal army, is in charge of 12 Shogun each commanding 10 000 men, one of which being his own nephew, Dariun. Even at the venerable age of 65, he is still a warrior of unparralleled vigor and skill.

He had held his current rank for 16 years, and hopes that his nephew will inherit the position after him. Because of his influencial position, he is well informed of the secrets of the Royal family, and wrote a letter to Bachman of the Fortress Peshwald full of startling revelations.

Even though Bachman's reaction to his letter seems to hint that he knows the trus nature of Arslan's birth, in his heart, he believes that under the rule of Arslan surely Pars will become an ideal state, strong and proud like it used to be. For that purpose he asked his nephew Dariun to take care of the young Prince and protect him, in order to usher Pars in a new age, and transfer his hopes and dreams to the next generation, which would surely make them come true.

Sadly, while escorting King Andragoras away from the lost battle at Atoropatene, they were found out by the elusive Siver Mask, Hirumes. Trying to cover his King's escape, Bafreez was easily disposed of by the one who believes to be the rightful heir to the Pars throne. Bafreez died in year 320 of the Pars calendar, his head put on a pike at the entrance of Ekubatahna as a warning.
