MAIN CHARACTERS OF OVA1...
AND OUR STORY BEGINS...
|
The Lusitanians, enemies of the Kingdom of Pars, are now at their western
border, with a huge army, bent on the conquest of their neighbour.
The Crown Prince Arslan is already on the battlefield, the plains of
Atoropatene, ready for his baptism of fire. |
|
In the Pars King's tent, a few of his Shoguns are having a heated debate:
the plains have been flooded with a strange mist, thus Darun believes that
it might be a trick of their enemies, and refuses to risk his men unecessarily.
Egged on by Karlan, Andragoras decided to relieve the timid Darun of
his command. |
|
The battle has started, and contrary to what Andragoras expected, there
seems to be no end to the Lusitanian forces, soldiers pouring into the Atoropatene
plains, outnumbering his Pars horsemen. |
|
Karlan received word of a messenger asking for his forces to serve as backup,
and after a rousing speech, sends his men straight into the Lusitanian trap
of oil and fire, himself rejoining his own Lusitanian division. |
|
Bafreez, Grand Shogun of the Pars army and uncle of Darun, given his command,
promises to look after his men, but asks in exchange for his nephew to seek
out Prince Arslan and protect him in the raging battle. |
|
The Pars forces have been decimated, burned by the oil of the Lusitanians,
killed or by their soldiers. Atoropatene is nothing more than a river of
blood. But the Crown Prince is still untouched. |
|
Protected by loyal Pars soldiers, Arslan is the only thing standing in this
corner of Atoropatene... But not for long... |
|
On the battlefield, looking for the Prince, Darun comes accross Karlan
the traitor and confronts him, but the Pars Shogun calls for the protection
of his men and Darun sets out to look for Prince Arslan, remembering his
promise to his uncle. |
|
Meanwhile, Arslan got recognized by a Lusitanian soldier because of his
golden helmet, and was felled from his horse. On foot, the boy unsheated
his sword and prepared to fight. |
|
Luckily, Darun arrived, dispaching the Lusitanian soldier, and tells his
Prince of Karlan's treachery, and of the state of the Pars army. The way
to the capital city of Ekubatana lying accross the battlefield, he decides
to lead the Prince away by another route. |
