Synopsis
This was our very first project, started on the very first day. We were to take index cards and bend them to make them into a 3D object instead of a 2D one. The purpose of the project is to help us understand materials and what they want to do when stressed.
Assignment
Main Idea
I was just doing trial and error. Cutting and folding with a single axis symmetry. I developed a consistency of a triangle almost inscribed in a semicircle and I stuck with it. All the while, Gary W was sitting across from me creating these complex radial things that looked like a blossomed flower. I must say that it was incredibly depressing.
My Presentation
First project. First screw-up. Figures. Instead of using the dark side as the display side, I decided to be dumb like usual and used the white side. But after the presentation, I flipped it around and instead of using tape, I switched to pins. The presentation itsself was rather short since it's not something very complicated. It was just three pieces of paper mounted on cardboard.
