Synopsis
We were to read several passages from selected text and to choose one to create a collage based off of a place in the passage. The passages were rather difficult to understand but at least they were in near-comprehensible english. This was to help us understand place and how it relates to moods.
Assignment
Main Idea
Main idea? There were only so many passages that I could understand in the first place and I chose the one that I understood the most. It was about traveling down a road from a lush greenery and life to a desolate place. I decided that I would simulate the experience by creating a road down the center and having the lush greenery on one side and the barren place on the other.
My Presentation
I believe this to be my weakest piece of work in this class. Armed with my foam board, several lent magazines from Ben Carlson, recycling receptacle, and some discarded models, I went to work on the collage after picking out one of the passages. After drying out my sources as much as I could, I came out with something that was still mostly white.
