JaRose Arts General Information

What is JaRose Arts ?

JaRose Arts is a website that was created by several local art lovers. JaRose Arts began by working small shows and flea markets, selling framed photography. They wanted to expand their operation, and in the early months of 1999, they decided to open a website to share their love of art with the world. JaRose Arts started it's site with just photography, but now is currently undergoing a face lift to improve the site, add new features, and expand into all art not just photography. We hope that with our new format, we will be able to completely redefine the way that art is shared with the public. Success does not come easy, and we believe that with your help, it will continue to be a very successful site. JaRose Arts will be marketing all forms of art to the general public.

We are looking for artists, craft enthusiasts, and people who have the ability to market their art. Some examples of what we are looking for are: Oil and acrylic paintings, statues, clay art, drawings, photography, jewelry, sculptures, and anything else that is creative. The only things we will not accept under any circumstances are blatent displays of nudity. We know the difference between art and "smut" and we will not post anything graphic on our site that does not meet the approval and definition of art in the minds of the company officers. The items that you have could be a "one of a kind" item, or an item that you have that is mass-produced, i.e. a print of your oil painting. You may be an amateur, or a professional, it makes no difference. Since you will have freedom to make your own decisions as to how to market your art, the choices and options are yours to customize. There will really be no competition among each artist on the site, because in the art world as you know, each person has something different.

JaRose Arts does not charge it’s registered contributing members to place their work on the site. The site does take a standard commission for each item that is sold through JaRose Arts. There may be other commissions that apply when your art is sold, based on which options you select when registering as a member. The details of these commissions that apply to JaRose Arts on a per sale basis can be found on this site in the financial information section for you to review.

As a registered contributing member of JaRose Arts, you will have the opportunity to market and sell your art through our website. To become a contributing member, you must register with JaRose Arts and define your membership options. You must be 18 years old and be legally able to sell you work in order to become a registered contributing member. It is that simple. Registration is FREE, there is no cost to become a basic registered contributing member. Once you are a registered contributing member, you will be able to market and sell your items on the site with the options that you choose. As a registered contributing member, you will make just about all the decisions about how you will use JaRose Arts to market and sell your art. You will not be an employee of JaRose Arts, but rather an "independent contractor". JaRose Arts will handle all the aspects of placement of your items on the site, marketing, order taking, and shipping of the art to the consumer. All you need do is provide your items on the site, and JaRose Arts takes care of the rest!

We are also going to add a "sister" site for JaRose Arts that will contain non-art related items for sale in the near future.

What are the benefits of placing your work in the JaRose Arts gallery ?

JaRose Arts wants to make sure that you are able to have the same artistic expression in selling your art, as there was in creating it. JaRose Arts gives you the flexibility to offer up all the options you desire to be able to sell your work the way you want. Upon registering with JaRose Arts, you will be given several options to choose from, on how to sell your work. Listed below are just some the standard options and benefits that you have upon completing your registration:

* Set your own prices - You are given the freedom to charge your own prices for each item that you place on the site for sale, which is your "asking price". You may change the price(s) of any items at any time with 3 business day’s notice. You also define your own options with respect to how your art is defined during the sale. For example if you list a photograph that you have at a certain price, you may also offer to have it ordered already framed for an additional cost. JaRose Arts will then apply it’s commission structure to your pricing, which will determine the items final cost as it appears on the website.

* Select which payment options are available to the customer - You decide if you wish to accept any combination of personal check, money order, or accept credit cards to process the order the customer places.

* Descriptions and/or histories displayed for each item - You have the ability to give a short description of each item you have on the site for the customers to view. The summaries are in your own words. Your descriptions must meet the approval of the JaRose Arts staff, as your description cannot be too long, or contain information that we feel is inappropriate.

* Profile section - As a registered contributing member, you will be given a personal profile page that you may use to give the customers a biography of you. This section may contain just about any information that you wish to pass on to the consumer about you and/or your art. You may also place a photograph of yourself on the page if you wish. We give you a standard template to use, and you may fill that template however you choose. You may not place however, any personal contact information on the site, or hyperlinks to any personal or business sites that you have. All correspondence must go through our site, due to our marketing of your work. You will be assigned an e-mail address at JaRose Arts for correspondence with the customers.

* "No-hassle" customer service and inventory - As a registered contributing member, JaRose Arts takes care of everything when it comes to selling your art. We handle the posting of your items on the site, the marketing, the order taking, and shipping the item to the consumer. You will retain the items you are selling until they are actually sold, therefore there are no issues with inventory of your work at JaRose Arts. Once your item sells, you will then ship that item to JaRose Arts for distribution to the customer. This method allows you to have ONE ADDRESS to ship to, and allows for a more cost-effective means of distributing your art. Our team will handle all the logistics and customer service issues that pertain to the orders of your work.

* Publish articles, ideas, or marketing plans - As a registered member of JaRose Arts, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our newsletter. JaRose Arts maintains a database of customers who have elected to receive our free newsletter that will be published monthly. This newsletter will include profiles of new and existing registered members, art ideas and "how-to’s", spotlights on individual artists and their work, other sources of art, and general information about art. You can write articles, provide a spotlight profile of you or your work when your turn comes up, answer questions submitted by customers, and give your perspective as an artist. If you elect to participate in this option, you will be assigned a position for our virtual newsletter. You may have your own column each month, or choose to be the "answer person" for questions or comments that come in about art, ect.

* Customer support - Your personal e-mail account with JaRose Arts gives your customers the ability to contact you about any of your items. Any e-mail that is received to your account is forwarded to you. To reply to your e-mail, simply reply to the special reply account, and your response is forwarded to the person who sent you the e-mail.

* Unlimited marketing potential - JaRose Arts will market your items to the general public via electronic means (newsgroup postings, e-mail to interested persons, and via our newsletter). You have the option to also advertise by newspaper ads, magazine ads, and by promotions on other websites via banners, links, and pop-up windows. You are also given the freedom to market your work your own way to bring customers to the JaRose Arts site to see your work, by putting links on your personal pages, or other pages you choose using our approved methods.

These are just some of the benefits and options that you have as a registered contributing member. New ideas, and options will be available in the future as JaRose Arts continues to grow, expand, and open new horizons in the art world.
