BOMBA!BOMBA!
Hail to the most explosive voice in Philippine fiction!
BOMBA! BOMBA! An Anthology of New Fiction for the Strange Millenium is looking for unpublished Philippine fiction by young visionary writers.
The editors of BOMBA! want Pinoy stories we've never seen before; all the strange urban fiction that niggles and niggles in our brains but will never get published in the immaculate newsprint of weekly magazines. You've read it before in your rejection slips: "we like it, BUT: it's too experimental, too postmodern, its an indication that you had a disturbed childhood."
But us! We want sex stories, macabre stories, stories about stories, stories about your grandma turning into a three-legged bangaw, PICTURES of your grandma turning into a three legged bangaw. Good stories about strange things. Strange stories about stranger things. We want unconventional, uncanny, unplugged stories in any way, shape or form.
For us the BOLDER the better. Or to put it bluntly: we want stories that pack the force of an atomic mindfuck sending seismic shocks all across the Philippine literary landscape and giving rise to multiple grammatical tsunamis drowning old fogey critics in its wake. Now it's time that you make the rules. Detonation is the name of the game. And if you are ready to drop your bomb you can send it to either [email protected] or
1920 Kahilom 2 Street
Pandacan, Manila
Philippines 1011.
Deadline for submissions is on 12:00 midnight, December 31, 1998
