To Venus and Back

The Live CD due out from Tori became (much to her own surprise) To Venus and Back, a double cd album. CD #1 (orbiting) is a whole new album (Bliss/Juarez/concertina/glory of the 80's/Lust/suede/Josephine/riot poof/Datura/spring haze/1000 oceans). CD #2 is an entire cd of live performances from the Raspberry Swirl Girl Tour (precious things/cruel/Cornflake Girl/bells for her/Girl/cooling/mr. zebra/cloud on my tongue/sugar/little eartquakes/space dog/Waitress/Purple People). The album was released September 21st (or so).

Release Date Unknown. Merman Frolics to Fans Ears (Kosovo Benefit CD)

In a noble effort to do something about the needs of the Kosovo refugees, a benefit cd is being released, titled No Boundaries. Tori's stunning and previously unreleased song, Merman, previously dedicated to Matthew Shepherd in a performance, is included on the track list.

Date Unknown. Tori Returns to Her Fans Once More
In an issue of Rolling Stones, the magazine proclaimed that Tori would be embarking on a five-week tour with Alanis Morisette, the woman who stole her grammy (j/k). MIKE WHY later varified this news as true. Tori is also expected to tour for the release of her two cd compilation. (See also Live Performance CD Due Next Fall and Tour Itinerary.)

Jackie's Strength Remix Single Tops Charts while The Complete Collection Goes Gold
The Jackie's Remix Single has been topping the Billboard dance music chart, and even happier news, the Complete Collection compilation video went gold shortly after it's release. Huzzah!
2.23.99 Jackie's Strength Remix Single to be Released
A second JS single is due on the 23rd, featuring a reportedly fantastic new beat. The single features seven remixes of Jackie's Strength and two of Father Lucifer, from Boys for Pele. You can preview a JS remix at Atlantic Records.
2.24.99 Tori nominated for Two Grammies
On Wednesday, tune in to the Grammies to witness what will hopefully be Tori history in the making. Tori was nominated for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance (for the Raspberry Swirl single) and is up against Alanis Morisette, Sheryl Crow, Ani DiFranco and Lucinda Williams. She also may be recieving the Best Alternative Album award, with competition from the Beastie Boys, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, and PJ Harvey. Keep your fingers crossed.

Live Performance CD Due Next Fall.
Through the whole Raspberry Swirl Girl Tour, Tori has been recording her performances. All of her work will come to use in the Fall, when she releases a two cd collection; one of her live performances, and one of new material. It's been reported that Tori's rather excited about this idea, so the outlook is quite good.

Tori Amos: The Complete Collection: 1992-98
On November 17, Atlantic released Tori Amos: The Complete Collection: 1992-98. That's ALL of her videos, Y Kant Tori Read excluded, in there, including both Cornflake Girl videos and Raspberry Swirl.
Dawson's Creek Features Northern Lad.
Accompanied by songs from 7 Mary 3 and Donna Lewis, Northern Lad, from the CH, was featured on Dawson's Creek on Wednesday, October 28th. This was apparently because the person who plays Pacey (I think that's who it was, but I'm afraid I don't watch) is an Ears With Feet.

Tori in People Magazine Almanac.
Tori and Mark were in the People Almanac under marriages. I'm not sure if she's mentioned anywhere else, but she's there. Handy little thing to pick up, I suppose.
