In order to prolong the life of electronic equipment, do not switch
on and off un-necessarily. When an electronic device is switched
on the components heat up and cool down again when switched off.
This heating up and cooling down puts a strain on componets and
shortens their life. The best compromise between saving electricity
and caring for your equipment is probably to switch on when you
need it and only switch it off when you are sure you are finished for
the night.
