KATELYN ALEXANDREA LEE "pure defender of mankind" |
Katie wants to be a nurse like Nana or a teacher like Mommy, she hasn't made up her mind. She's so smart (what Mother wouldn't say that?). I'm so proud of her. She loves dance, and one day, I believe her body will catch up to what she wants to do with it. Right now, she needs a lot more strength and coordination. Still, she's on a dance troupe, and she's working hard on learning to cartwheel because she's doing a solo to Pinnochio's "I Got No Strings." She's stopped doing pageants as last year she bit a judge. They were playing Duck Duck Goose and she had to get in the middle. She can't stand losing anything, and tries to be the best at everything she does. This year, she's in first grade. They're doing a program at her school called Success For All. It took two days to test Katie; I hope that's a good sign.

"Wild Rose" Willfully wild willowy rose I cradle your youthful blossoms Within my most unworthy hands You are breathtaking to behold Though I've felt your thorns many times Once a butterfly brushed against Your nearly perfect pink petals Its wings shimmered in the sunlight I watched waiting for you to snap But you were strong, still, and silent Awe-inspired by your innocence, Imaginative intellect, And your dear, delicate beauty, I pray you get the soil and sun You need to grow healthy and whole. |
