I could not look upon your face
As you cross the threshold leaving.
Loudly, in finality, I close the door;
Closed it with in absolute resolve of never more.

I could not look upon your face
So raw and bare in naked pain.
In your face, mirrored there, was mine.
I chose instead the absolute resolve of never more.

I could not look upon your face
As you walk on in false bravado.
Out of sight, I know your calm is shattered
As you chose the absolute resolve of never more.

Never more to be in arms so totally accepting
Never more to live with the harmony of souls meeting.
Never more to look into eyes with love’s hope and joy;
The absolute resolve of never more is all that will ever be.
