Generic Coding Samples |
|
The following are "generic" code samples that you can use to add ringcode to your pages. A copy of the codes used is found on a netringsamples.txt file, which you can copy for your own use. You can also design your own variations as well, see the NetRing Codes page for details. The bare minimum that I need for a ringcode on your page (regardless of the ring) is a home link and either a list or a random link. Adapting the CodesTo use these codes you need to copy the appropriate example from netringsamples.txt and then replace the various place markers with ones appropriate to that of your ring site. The place markers used are:
For example, if your name was Jessica Hill, your email was [email protected] and you had just joined the Life Experience ring and your site ID was 12, then you would replace... ***RING NAME*** with Life Experience; If you use a RingCode that uses the graphic, you will need to copy it and then upload it to your site. You cannot use a direct link to any of the graphics on this site, as the webspace provider replaces any such graphics with its own advertising. All examples shown below are surrounded by a white boarder. This boarder is not actually part of the RingCode and doesn't appear in the netringsamples.txt, it is merely there to clarify what the code looks like. They are grouped together by use of an enclosing one-cell table, to enable you to position the codes easier as one group.Text OnlyThe following two ringcodes use only text links, no graphics. Text StripThis sort of ringcode is very popular with some page designers. It takes up a minimum of space. You can fit quite a number of these to a page.
Text BlockA verbose version of the above, this adds your name and email address. You can vary the size of the size of the table by adding a width="width" after the align="center" attribute.
Standard GraphicsThe graphics used in following codes are ringicon.gif (50x50 pixels), ringprev.gif (50x50 pixels), ringnext.gif (50x50 pixels), ringbutton.gif (116x50 pixels), and ringlogo.gif (150x150 pixels). Each is the same size as the equivalent graphic for each ring. Instead of using these sample graphics, you need to use the appropriate one for the ring (which is listed on each ring's code page). To continue with the above example, as you are making code for the Life Experience ring, you would replace ringicon.gif with leicon.gif, ringprev.gif with leprev.gif, ringnext.gif with lenext.gif, ringbutton.gif with lebutton.gif, and ringlogo.gif with lelogo.gif. IconThis ringcode gives a result that looks a lot like another ring provider, doesn't it? Designed to be inserted into a whole list of those others, without anyone noticing. You will need to substitute the ring icon for ringicon.gif. To change the surrounding background colour, alter the bgcolor="#ffccff" attribute in the table definition.
