The Group was formed by a group of Zimbabwean students and some expartrates chriatians in February 1998.It started
with an attendance of about 12 people who saw the need to pray for the nation of Zimbabwe .Having established that Zimbabwe could only be saved by our almighty Jesus they launched the first meeting at
Kudakwashe Kadungure 's Place, at Mill Court a UCT residence in Capetown South Africa. The leader (presently), Kudakwashe felt a deep need
for Zimbabwe's salvation through and through. He therefore communicated his burden to a few friends and came up with the idea of taking it to God in prayer.
It was then that the Intercessory Group was formed, and a decision to meet fortnightly agreed on. As the year progressed, so did the group grow, varrying from 20-22 in August 1998. Ocassionally, we were
joined by a few non Zimbabweans. |
The meetings commence at 7pm on Saturdays, beginning with praise and worship and getting into the presence of the Lord where we
begin to interceed in prayer and supplication as the Spirit leads. Basically this entails asking God for deliverance in the following areas: Economic, Political, Family and Church, Arts and Music as
well as Education. We end the meetings at 8:30pm. We feel that since we have been blessed so much and moved from victory to victory, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Lord and to our
patient Leaders (in 1998) who were dedicated in establishing strong roots for the group. These are:
- Chidochangu
- Calvin
- Pauline
We are very thankful to God for seeing us through 1998 and we are looking forward to a bumper harvest in 1999………… |
