Combined Choirs Concert

The JJMC, Welsh Male Choir and Imilonju
Kantu Choral Society)

This concert took place on Monday 5 May at the Linder Auditorium. The combined choirs sang to a packed auditorium, opening the concert with the Maccabi March. Thereafter each of the choirs sang from their respective repertoires, and the concert concluded with a combined rendition of the "Slave Chorus" from Aida by Giuseppi Verdi, an African work-song, and the now traditional "Shoshalosa". This last had to be repeated several times to appease the frenzied applause of the foot-stomping audience.

Music bridges cultural divides, and this concert was a living expression of this fact.
