The misfits show by The Madcap
There it was, October 2nd. Saint John, New Brunswick. And it was in the air. THE MISFITS!!!! Finally, the wait was so long. They were in town. It was at an Auditorium at the university campus. The lineup wasn’t too long, at least for me, I was the FIRST ONE IN!!! After a long wait for the damn campus police to let us in, the show began. Some stupid local band played a few tunes, mainly Black Sabbath songs. Then came in the official supporting act, Guy Smiley. They were absolutely powerful, and played a good set. I’m gonna have to get one of their albums. When they left, there was about a half hour of silence, and then came none other but the CRIMSON GHOST. He went around with a torch on the stage for a few minutes, and then he returned, dragging Michale Graves with a chain onto the stage.
Then BAM!! On came Doyle and Jerry, and the band powered away to "The abominable Dr Phibes" They continued to play a really long but excellent set, including almost all of the newer stuff (Mars Invasion was awesome, cause I made it on the stage by climbing over a speaker. They had a few DAMN FINE roadies behind the stage) And also they played a lot of the older stuff, like Static Age, Hybrid Moments and All Hell Breaks Loose. They closed with I think Astro Zombies, but I have trouble remembering, as I was in the mosh pit. After the show, I got Doyle’s autograph on my hat (I lost my ticket stub)
It was awesome.
