One of my two (now three) favorite authors is Jack Womack. He wrote Random Acts of Senseless Violence, whch is a sort of coming of age story set in a futuristic America which is a victim of extreme inflation, and the assasinations of 5 presidents in a row. The oher book of his that i have finished is Ambient the first in a series of futuristic novels similar to Random Acts.... Ambient is an action story as much as it is a love story. Currently, I'm reading Terraplane whichis the second in the Ambient series. Apparently, its something about time travel.

Thesecond of my favorite authors is James Baldwin. His book Another Country is set in the 60s and points out the racial lines that were around at the time, as well as the trialsof love, life and treachery.

And the third of my favorite authors is Dorothy Allison. She wrote Bastard out of Carlolina which is thebook that made me love her, and Cavedweller her latest novel, which i haven't read yet. Bastard... is another coming of age story which poits out the trials of being a young, defenseless girl in the poor south.
