There was once a famous photographer who was known as "Shadow Catcher." Liz Larrabee will be forever known as "Soul Catcher," for her ability to capture the souls of people, places, objects, architecture, and eras. Her stratospheric talent extends beyond her single-shot cosmic voodoo expertise with a camera... I would be hard-pressed to say whether she is more talented with a camera or with the written or spoken word. When asked for a bio, all she has to say is, "I was born in Salem, Massachusetts. I'm a proud graduate of Edwards Elementary School. I have five children and nine grandchildren. I travel. I take pictures . I write." She is the most amazing woman I have ever known.

ON ACTING THE WAY YOU FEEL
© 1993 Elizabeth Larrabee
I don't mind being thirty-eight
especially because sixty-seven years
have passed since I was born.
These pages are dedicated to all fourteen of my living heirs, not to mention the three million or so that may follow. To those I've met in my travels, whose faces have been indelibly engraved on my memory, I owe my deepest gratitude and respect. My thanks to the waterfalls, sunrises, cobblestones and windowsills I have known, for standing still long enough that I may capture one instant of my life to store in my armory of keepsakes.
And thank you, too, to those who have inspired and encouraged me.
Liz

As one of 3,600 photographers from all over the world who submitted photographs to the Millennium Photo Project, I was thrilled when my photos of the homeless were chosen for their great collection.
