Four hours in Honduras

PORTO CORTES -- I disembark from the Russian cruise ship, Gruziya, at 8:30 a.m. At the bottom of the gangway I'm besieged by taxi drivers, each enlisting the services of the only interpreter on the dock, Jose. He sports a heavy mustache, an open-neck shirt and scuffed, wing-tipped shoes. I bargain valiantly for 15 minutes, explaining that I want to spend my precious four hours in Honduras exploring the countryside, meeting and photographing the people.
