Health services Institutions
In the last ten years many institutions have been built in Sakhnin, which have served its people and others from nearby villages.  Some of these sick funds centers are:

1) General Sick Funds.  It has served the citizens since 1959.This center has different  branches in the town to facilitate the citizen's lives.  Recently, it services were expanded with the appointment of specialized doctors.  All of sick funds services have been computerized.

 2) National Sick Funds, which offers very good services and has an excellent reputation.

 3) United Sick Funds.  It is a newly built center, which offers good services since 1996.
There are also three "Mother and Childcare" centers, intensive care unit another medical centers.
 


 
Relegions Institutions

There are four mosques in Sakhnin : The " Sufi Mosque " which lies northeast of the town in "Alroweis"' neighborhood. It is a marvelous, spacious mosque with a very tall minaret, which symbolizes the oneness of God.  Another mosque is the "Mosque of light" which is very beautiful and spacious and it lies in the center of the town.
The third mosque "Masjid Al-Omari", It was the first mosque that was built in Sakhnin. It was built at the time of "Dahir AI-Omar", but recently it has been enlarged and renovated.  Many religious circles are held in it and it is always full of worshippers.  Only recently another mosque has been built in the western part of the town.  It is called "Alsalam Mosque"'.  It is a newly built mosque with a lot of decorations from the inside.lt is very impressive and it can contain about 1000 worshipers. 

Also, there are two beautiful churches, one for Catholics and another for the Orthothox. However, the old church for the Catholics has been completely demolished and a huge church has been built instead, but it is not finished yet.
Another church for the Orthohthox is being built in northeast of Sakhnin to replace the old one, which lies in the old city.  Construction is still going and it seems that worshipers will not be able to use it before the year 2000


 
The Educational Institutions

It is believed that the first school was established in Sakhnin during the Turkish Mandate in the year 1886.  Students used to learn religion and memorize verses from the Quraan. 
During the British mandate students began to learn in rented rooms and sometimes in the church which belonged to the Roman Catholics.
In 1928, the first school building was set up and it was called Sakhnin School "A".
The first teacher in Sakhnin was the late Neimer Aboud
In 1946 a second school was built - Sakhnin school "B"; which was a school for only male students and the female students learn in School "A".
Nowadays, there are five elementary schools, two junior high schools and one comprehensive school.
There is also a school for vocational qualification, a pedagogical center, a school for the disabled pupils, a crnter for gifted learners, fifteen kindergartens and a collage for teaching music.
Also there are colleges for adults such as the "Partnership college", the "Arab College" and the "Regional College" for vocational training.

 
Museum Of Palestinian Folk Heritage

Sakhnin is proud to have its own museum in the heart of the old town,
which contains very old equipment and tools used by one forfeiters.
The museum is open everyday of the year from 9:00 to 16:00, with guided tours available in English, Arabic, and Hebrew.
There is a nominal admission charge.
While the museum of Palestinian Folk Heritage celebrated its official opening in 1994, the building and exhibition of its collection began in 1989.
The museum had 2,500 visitors in 1993.

 
Another general services Instiutions

There is a Regional  Labor council, the council offers its service to the people in Sakhnin and the nearby villages such as; Arraba, Deir Hana -and Kawkab and it works hard for the welfare of workers and protects their rights.

Concerning the banking services, there are three banks;
the first bank is the " Arab Bank", which has offered services to its clients since it was established in 1963.
There is also a branch for "Discount Bank", which started to offer its service in 1978 and the "Jerusalem Bank", which was opened in 1994 In Sakhnin.

There is also a center which spenfour economic initiations and effort financial aid to projects and workshops.

There is a post office, which started as a small branch, and in recent years it has been enlarged and centers for P.O. Boxes have recently been built to facilitate delivering of letters to people.

In Sakhnin, there is also a driving school and an office for licensing cars for all the people in the area.

There is also a center for the blind and disabled people, which was established in 1992.

Also, there is a regional unemployment office, which offers services to the unemployed people in Sakhnin and the nearby villages.

In addition, there is also "The Islamic Enlightenment " Society which works very hard to preserve our cenetarising and holy shrines.  Also, it offers help to needy families, students, clubs and schools.
Recently, the society for the protection of nature has set up an office in Sakhnin which deals with issues related to environment and the people in charge do their almost to increase the people's awareness of protecting the environment.
