Unfolding

this is not the first time
for me to enthrall myself
in the unfolding of white petals
framed by the blueblack sky
speckled by stars

but i find this particular
flower
so unwilling
to unfold itself

every movement reluctant
trying to hold its secrets
unto itself
yet done in the promise
of a hundred tiny seeds
