Salvation

Touch of a dream laid naked soft in the night;
Feathered kisses rained gentle upon my eyes
While a whispered word haunted away fears
And a lover's caress melted away my tears.

Strong arms enfolded me til morning's light,
Warm lips stole a thousand breathless sighs,
Promises of tomorrow eclipsed the years,
Of times when my screams deafened my ears.

She stayed with me silently until it was right,
Until murmurs of peace replaced my cries,
Then I woke from my endless death ride,
To find my dream by my side flesh alive.
