My Daddy Taught Me

I remember the day my daddy taught me to tie a noose.
Said to grab the rope like it was a fishin' pole.
Ya throw out the line and real her back in.
And get twisting and twisting so it's snug but still loose.
Then ya grab the end and pull out for a hole
Just big enough for the men with dark skin.

I was watching the movie "Rosewood" the other day (excellent movie) and the part that stuck with me the most was the scene where the father taught his son to tie a noose and then told him to slip it around the neck of a black man. It just saddens me to think of the things that parents are teaching thei children. If kids aren't born with a sinful nature, they sure are given one by society.
