Jesus at the Temple - (Extracted from the Bible)
Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling them. He overturned the tables of the money changes and the benches of those selling doves. "It is written, " he said to them, "my house will be called a house of prayer, 'but you are making it a den of robbers.' "
Paying Taxes to Caesar
The Pharisees laid plans to trap Jesus in his words. They asked Jesus, "Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?" But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, "You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? Show me the coin used for paying the tax."
They brought him a denarius, and he asked them, "Whose potrait is this? And whose inscription?" "Caesar's," they replied. Then Jesus said, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." When they heard this, they were amazed and went away.
The Greatest Commandment
The Pharisees tested Jesus and one asked, "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?" "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'
The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandments greater than this. From then on, no one dared to ask Jesus any questions.
Jesus Again Predicts His Death
As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he told his twelve disciples, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!"
I believe that Jesus Christ is God's own son who became a man
so that he could die for our sins.
