Player Awards



Brisbane Broncos', Queensland and Australian fullback Darren Lockyer
was on hand on the first day of the Open Championships at Wynnum to
officially open the carnival and to present player-of-match awards. Here
he is seen presenting Sunshine Coast five-eighth Brent Tate (Clontarf Beach
SHS) with the award he earned in his team's 28-20 win over Metropolitan East.
Brent was one of two Sunshine Coast players later named in the Queensland
Schoolboys team for the National Open Championships at Tweed Heads in July
