The Bay Area Animation Society, better known as BAAS, is an advocacy and support organization of, by, and for fans of Japanese animation, or anime.
Our continuing efforts are meant to show that anime is for all cultures and levels of maturity, capable of being used creatively to express a full and complex range of thoughts and emotions -- and not just for the simplistic entertainment of children.
We at BAAS provide a focal point for facilitating networking and open communication between fans, artisits, writers, production studios, and convention organizers.
BAAS encourages the increasing exposure of anime to the general public through endorsing and supporting anime fandom at conventions across the continental United States and Canada.
Lastly, the Bay Area Animation Society holds free monthly showings in cooperation with local anime dealers as well as organizes several other events open to both our local members and anime fans in general.
