Sayo Mutou
Alias:
Magdaria (Japanese derivation of Mother Mary)
Looks:
She's very close to the classical beauties in anime,
with a frail frame and sweet face. Beautiful green
eyes and long, wavy brown hair. Her fashion sense is
pretty difficult to get used to, but don't worry,
I've seen tackier. Note that she wasn't really so
cute when a child, IMHO, so she just filled out
recently.
Smarts:
Good. She's fairly literate and knows a lot about
theology and child raising so she takes charge of
the Christian kids.
Personality:
Mostly pious, she strongly believes in no violence,
but in a "corrupted" way, though that's
explainable due to her and her brother's raise (you
*were* going to kill Sano, weren't you? -_-). Sayo
is hard and even arrogant at points, to the ones
opposing her beliefs, explaining why she was in a
moment willing to shoot Sano. Once she gets to know
you better, softer spots will come to surface.
Cooking
- Home Economics:
Possibly knows the basic, but not much more.
Fighting
skills:
Her extremely frail health doesn't let Sayo do many
things (remember she's tisic). However, she had a
gun to defend herself, and you know she was WILLING
to use it.
Special
abilities:
Member of the "Damsel in Distress S.A" *lol*.
Able to make Sanosuke forget for two-three days
about Megumi, apparently. Duh!, the S&M fans
say.
Competition:
Sanosuke seemed quite protective of Sayo as she
cured his wounds twice in the Shimabara arc, but as
this was an only-anime saga, I'm not sure it would
influence that much. Other suitor would be her
bodyguard Shouzo (WAAAIII!! I WANT A BOYFRIEND LIKE
HIM!! *heartshaped eyes*) who promised that he'd do
everything to make her and Shougo happy, so he'd be
thrilled if Sayo has found love, but dangerous to
anyone who hurts her.
In-Laws:
Her parents were killed in the Christians' slaughter
in Shimabara while Japan was still a closed country.
Her uncle Hyoue also died, so the only one to rely
would be her older brother Shougo, aka Amakusa.
Shougo would NEVER accept a Non-Christian man
marrying his beloved sister, so getting yourself in
the ways of Jesus would be the first step to follow.
Once you do, Shougo would keep also his eyes on you
both so you treat her right. Also, Sayo looks at the
children at the colony as her brothers and sisters,
so they'll be around being themselves quite in a
while and it shouldn't be difficult to get used to
it.
Finances:
As her brother's a Christian minister and a very
talented doctor, Sayo has acquired teaching and
medical knowledge and she'll use it to teach others
and help you with money.
Sex:
One thing for sure is that she'll save herself for
marriage. Remember also her sickly nature, so you
better start with cuddle and caresses to make her
feel better.
Overall:
Not the worst choice. Sano-Megumi fans will
definitely thank you for taking their biggest
obstacle away, and while Shougo and Shouzo aren't
suspecting that you may be an heretic or something,
you'll live with her a short, but nice married life.
