"Rearranged to be Strange."

Guess what?  Today is the birthday of Salvador Dali.  Forget about Llama's, this guy was strange.  But he was systematically strange.  An Excellent architect, he became the most famous of the Surrealists.  Was he more talented as an artist, or a publicity agent for himself?  It seems that everyone has heard of the weird painting with the melting watches, even people who know nothing about art.  Dali was quite versatile, as he not only did the paintings he was known for, but did many classical styles and the sculptures, drawings, writings, illustrations, even movies.  He also collaborated with Alfred Hitchcock on a dream sequence for one of his movies.  The guy had it made in the shade to begin with.  His parents were well off, and even built his first studio for him.  But I believe that it was his penchant for attracting world-wide attention to himself that was his ultimate success story.  Whatever the norm was, you would find him standing on the other side of the room, with his back turned to it.  A fascinating character.  Perhaps I am touched by a little jealousy.

Poetry this time is back to the short and sweetly inspirational variety.  I actually received some pointed commentary on my last poem, a darker and longer subject.  But please understand that I am only human, and that I write according to my own feelings.  There will be times when I wake up to a frown.  It's like I tell a friend of mine, "why is your smile upside down?"  Hey, it happens.  But, of course, I prefer to be happy, and that is what I do most of the time.

Have a Wonder-Filled Week

Poetry

Let's Go Grow

It's a journey of discovery,
we express what we feel.
When we make contact,
out dreams become real.

I explore you,
you explore me.
Through this bond,
we set ourselves free.

A friend is a friend,
only time will tell,
when honesty rings true
like a liberty bell.

I implore you,
you implore me.
We fulfill the request,
and then we will see.

The more we have grown,
now larger our heart.
Amazing as it seems,
this is only a start.

JOKES?

STRANGE

A lawyer named Strange died, and his friend asked the tombstone maker to inscribe on his tombstone, "Here lies Strange, an honest man, and a lawyer."  The inscriber insisted that such an inscription would be confusing, for passersby would tend to think that three men were buried under the stone.  However he suggested an alternative: He would inscribe, "Here lies a man who was both honest and a lawyer." That way, whenever anyone walked by the tombstone and read it, they would be certain to remark: "That's Strange".

LINGUISTICS

A linguistics professor was lecturing his class. "In English," he explained, "a double negative forms a positive. In some languages, such as Russian, a double negative is still a negative. However," the professor continued, "there is no language wherein a double positive can form a negative."  A voice from the back of the room piped up. "Yeah, right."
