Off the west coast of St. Martin is the smaller island of Saba, which is basically a cinder cone sticking out of the ocean. There is virtually no flat areas on the island, except in the center of the island, which is called The Bottom! It is actually near the top of the island, and is a very quaint village of red roofs. There is excellent SCUBA diving off this island, due to the steep incline of the shoreline, which provides for wall diving, and no real ocean bottom.
