These unusual "critters", which look like they are coming at the camera, but are actually moving slowly away from me, are in fact squid. There were about 8 of these spread out about 1 foot between them, moving parallel to each other through the water. They can move fast when disturbed, but were simply fluttering their side fins, moving very slowly in front of me. Their color was not apparent in the water, as red is quickly dissipated as a color in the ocean, and it wasn't until I looked at the developed print that I realized how colorful they are.
