At the Down (Western) end of Byron Creek yard is the junction for the short Murrumbong Branch. This branch consists of a very small intermediate station with goods siding and a complete terminus
A 48 class branch line diesel locomotive at the head of a short bulk wheat train slowly makes its way into Byron Creek yard, having just come from the Murrumbong Branch.
