Written
6th September, 2003:
This
was the second of my stories (or one-and-a-half, since
it was never finished), drawn throughout 2000, during
one of my busiest uni years. The fact that it's unfinished
doesn't bother me at all - I started drawing it because
I had finished "Shirley's Story", and was
just sitting around with a pen in my hand waiting
for something to happen. When I became too busy to
keep drawing it, I stopped, and never resumed - reason
being, the story was not my original creation.
I
had alot of fun drawing this story... I like drawing
fantasy/sci-fi/action/adventure much
more than ordinary-life stories. After I finished
"Shirley's Story", I thought my skills were
good enough to draw a fantasy-action piece - alas,
they were not. I had alot of trouble drawing action
scenes, and I realised that I needed more practise
at drawing people, anatomy and backgrounds. So it
was back to drawing ordinary-life. And "A Chinese
Ghost Story" was relegated to the backhalls of
ancient history. Well, it was fun while it lasted.
I look back with fond memories.
