This story was written in 2002, and is meant to be a short ghost story. However, I went overseas for several months, and when I got back, I was too busy working on "Air + Space" (also on this site) to finish it. So now, since it doesn't take too much effort to do, I will be finishing this manga.

You may be wondering why this manga is set in, of all places, a girl's toilets. This is because it's based partly on spooky stories about the school toilets that everyone likes to pass around in high school... stories only someone like me would be scared of. I suppose freaky things happen in toilets so much because they are (a) usually dark and isolated, and (b) people often have to go there alone. On the contrary, nothing freakier than homosexual encounters happen in guy's toilets (as far as I know). While girl's toilets are built on Indian burial grounds and haunted by murdered nuns, only comedies seem to happen in guys toilets.

Anyway, trying to figure out the right "tone" for this story wasn't easy. Do people like their ghost stories overblown, dramatic and in-yer-face, or do they like it muted and unsettling in a "no one can hear you scream" sort of way? Well, because the ghost stories I heard in high school always seem to be of the latter variety, I opted for the second one. Maybe one day I'll draw a messy one.

This reads in the western way, from left to right. The font is also different, in TImes New Roman; I deliberately used that font because it suited the overall style more.
