The center of all activity rests in Drache, the capital city of Arangoth. Basically, this is where most of the characters' lives are centered on, though most of them aren't born there either. Drache's population is easily ninety percent foreigners. Save for a few, most of the characters which interact with each other in Drache are foreigners....either coming from a different country or a different city altogether. The characters who were actually born there are either farmers, or most commonly, orphans stuck in the city's orphanages. Given that there wasn't any yet, I did a rough map of Drache just to give people a visual idea of how the city might be arranged through the description provided in The Official Blkdragon*Inn Website. Description of some of the key locales are also described below.
The Blkdragon Inn - Ah yes, the inn. This is basically the 'main' place of interaction, where the characters are often found chatting, drinking, and more than occasionally, fighting. It's considered the most notorious establishment in all of the city.
Royal Guard Headquarters - It's considered one of the most important buildings in the city, often described by other muns to have a white statue of Justice (the woman with the blindfold and the scales) standing in front of its courtyard. As the name suggests, it's basically the main office of the local law enforcement. That's also where bounty-hunting licenses are issued....bounty hunters can't work legally in the city unless they're licensed, or they'll be charged of several felonies.
The Wharf District - It's the heart of the city's criminal underground. DO NOT enter unless fully armed and capable of watching your back. It's easily the most dangerous area in Drache, with people waiting to mug and slit throats left and right. Shady business deals and smuggling aren't uncommon around this area, especially in the docks along the waterfront. The Iron Gate, which separates the Wharf District from the more prestigous Blkdragon District, is flanked by guards who frisk people before they enter.
The Cutpurse Inn - Home of the local thugs, the slickest rouges, and the toughest men and women in Drache (who can't afford the BDI...heh heh). It can be described as, literally, a den of thieves, ever reeking with cigar smoke and lower quality ale. Of course, it is also one of the top places in the city to look for information on criminals.
The Back Alley - From what I can make out from constant roleplaying sessions, this is where information for heists, mercenary jobs, burglaries, scams, and so on travel towards choice circuits.
The Red Lantern District - The place boasts with, umm....prostitution rings. Slavers and high profiled politicians incognito are usually spotted, or rumored to have been spotted, more frequently around these parts than anywhere else. Drug rings are also said to inhabit there.
Merchant's Square - Drache's business and trade center, surrounded by a large marketplace. It's a trading zone of a plethora of goods.
The Royal Church - It's located in a district set aside for religious structures. It boasts something called 'The Great Seal,' and by countless stories, it is said that no evil can pass beyond it.
Castle Black - Also known as the most secure building in the city, it is the seat of Arangoth's monarchy. EXTREMELY high security.
