I was born and raised in DC. I've been in North Carolina for
almost two years and I'm still not over the culture shock!
I'm a college student at East Carolina University. Transferred here from WVU
I can't figure out what the hell I want to do with my life so I keep switching
majors. First it was Theater, then Computer Science, then English and now a
double major in Anthropology & Religious Studies. Who knows what my next
major will be....maybe Under-Water Basket Weaving! (j/k) I finally decided
on a double majoring because the field is pretty open and I can combine my two
favorite subjects...the paranormal and religion.
I've been interested in the paranormal since I was a little girl (much to my
mother's dismay ghosts came before barbies *grin*) and I was turned on to
religion when I got sent to a private catholic school *Uggh* I took a
course called "The Existence of God" It basically dealt with all the
"higher powers & supreme beings" in most of the basic religions and I got hooked. After that I
pretty much devoured any book I could find on the subject. I haven't found a
religion that I can put my faith into but I'm still looking.
My thesis deals with the various underworlds (or otherworlds, as the case may be). It compares and contrasts the Mesopotamian, West African, Celtic and Mesoamerican cultural views on the darker afterlife.
I'm a Marlboro woman to the end! I LOVE to play pool...even though
I'm not very good at it. I'm a die hard British comedy fan, especially Monty Python, Are you being served, Ab Fab and The Young Ones!
I detest TV. However, I'm an avid movie buff. I'm still big into Drama...but Greenhell
seems to
be lacking in the arts. (as well as other things)
I love all kinds of music...but country and rap are the least likely to get into my cd collection. Favorite musicians: Type O Negative, NIN, Ozzy, Skunk Anansie, Metallica, Delerium, Front 242, Lot Five and Blood Source.
I currently have 4 tattoos. A black rose on my ankle, a scorpion on my chest, a unicorn on my thigh, and a dragon on my back.
