Mars
The God of War
Mars is the Roman god of war. The red planet has been known to humankind since early written history. It is smaller then the Earth but similar in many ways. It has a thin atmosphere mostly consisting of carbon dioxide and water locked in Ice at both poles. Mars surface is scarred by thousands of lines that appear to be ancient riverbeds and many may have been caused when the water was sucked up into the poles. Mars also has vast mountain ranges but it is unknown if it has plate techtonics like the Earth does. The month of March is derived from the name Mars.
