Uranus
Pronounced: YOOR-a-nuss
Uranus was the the first King of the Gods. He was the son and mate to Gaia and the father of Cronus. Uranus is the first planet discovered in modern times by William Herschel on March 13, 1781 (the year Mozart composed the Magic Flute). Its atmosphere is 80% or so Hydrogen and its core is mostly frozen hydrogen and various ices. It is such and odd planet. The rest of the planets rotate on a perpendicular plane against the plane of the planets, but Uranus seems to be on its side. In other words, the earths rotational axis is at a 90 degree angle or so to the sun but Uranus's north pole points straight to it. Oddly, the poles are still colder then the equater! Uranus has about 11 moons and 15 known rings that are just as faint as Jupiter's, most are made up from dust and small rock chunks.
