Because
8/16/94

You wonder what it is that makes me love you
And why I say you're special in my eyes
You ask me why I'm always thinking of you
And what about you keeps me hypnotized
It isn't that we never seem to fight or disagree
It's not the fact that I look good when you stand next to me
It isn't something I can touch or something I can see
I love you--because

You want to know the reasons why I kiss you
And why I brag about you to my friends
And when you're gone, you wonder why I miss you
And why I say my love will never end
It isn't that your smile can always chase away my frown
It's not that you are there to pick me up when I am down
It isn't that--no matter what--I know you'll be around
I love you--because

You ask me why I like to hold you tightly
And why I smile each time I touch your hair
And you can't figure out why you're the right girl
You wonder what it is that makes me care
There isn't any single thing as far as I can tell
It isn't destiny, or fate, or any magic spell
It isn't something you can buy or bottle up and sell
I love you--because

I don't need a reason
I love you just because
