This is my most recent poem...unless I haven't written anything new recently, in which case, this is something from the archives.
It's Not What You Think 6/15/97
I enter my room, and you are standing there Silent...and waiting I admire the smooth curves of your hourglass body I cross the room, and take you in my arms And as I embrace you, we sit upon the bed Lovingly, I stroke your neck And I place my fingers precisely on your favorite spots My other hand moves over the opening in your center Gently, I pick a spot, and you reply with a low hum I alter my hand slightly, and again, you respond to my touch Again and again, I strike Sometimes firmly; sometimes softly Now rapidly; now more slowly Until together, we are making beautiful music And I smile When it's over, I hold you at arms length, and again admire the way you look I release you and depart, but it doesn't make me sad For I am secure in the knowledge that we'll do this over and over Each time a little better than the last For the rest of my days note: this is a poem about the one true love of my life: my guitar
