about me

My name is Daniel Samanez; I�m 26 years old. I have been working and studying video and new media for 5 years. Simultaneously I have been studying Literature in the Catholic University here in Lima, Peru. Internet, 3d animation and video, Literature, the plastic arts and cinema, are my stronger passions. I studied video at INICTEL (National Institute of Telecommunications). I took a course at the institute Toulouse-Lautrec to be a Macromedia Director. I took a two months 3d Studio Max study program at Macrotec Data (actually, it was 3d Studio Viz ): it was useful to get familiar with the program. I learnt about animation by myself, with the help of books and people interacting on the Internet. I also taught myself After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator and Corel. Also, I had some experience whit Maya and SoftImage. The last years I have been doing independent and Freelance work. Now I would like to enter into an animation company and get more involve in character animation for film and video. That means that I want to get a job somewhere out of Peru since there is not much animation and media production here. And, something even more important, we have not yet developed a tradition in this field

I want now to continue with my work in 3d animation, finish a 3d virtual storyboard for a short film that I want to shot (I have the screenplay already, now I�m working on a 3d storyboard in 3DSMax). I also have in mind a video installation that I�m �virtually� developing in Max. I want to become more familiar with two areas than I see promising and fascinating: the combination of TV with the Internet and the making of computer games.
