minor note from the author- I'm running out of ideas here! Any help?! On to my dwindling story with no plot...
Alone in her prison, Usagi was unable to do anything, but wait.
In front of him, Mamoru found a sword lying on the desert sand. He wondered if he could use it.
"You may use that if you wish," Scylla answered the unspoken question. "Though it won't help you much," she added after a moment's pause.
Mamoru reached for the sword. He immdiately withdrew his hand. The sword which was lying on the desert sand had caused the metal handle of the sword to become extremely hot.
Scylla just watched him. In one sweep of her right arm, she sent a gust of wind at him. The sand started to move. It moved in great sheets across the desert.
Mamoru hoped to be able to bear it out, but the sandstorm was like a giant wave. It was going to swallow him up and bury him.
I can't let Usagi down. I have to fight this.
"No you don't," a new voice said.
What?
"Oh, don't mind me, Mamoru."
Who are you?
Silence.
The sandstorm had stopped. Scylla looked at the result from high above the desert.
"Well, if that didn't bury him, at least the heat will bring him down."
Satisfied that there were no signs of Mamoru, Scylla tried to teleport away back to the meadow.
"No, not yet. One of you has to lose before the other can leave."
It was the same voice as before.
Scylla bit her lip in annoyance.
Down below, buried beneath a blanket of sand, Mamoru was still alive. He tried to find the surface, but there was sand everywhich way. He desperately needed to get air soon. His eyes were shut as his hand hit against something.
The sword!
Scylla flew above the desert looking for any signs of Mamoru.
"Why he's buried underneath, isn't that as good as done?" she asked.
*laughter* "No not quite. Look again."
That voice again.
And sure enough, there was something that reflected the sunlight down below.
Scylla flew down for a better look.
Mamoru pulled himself out of the sand gasping for air.
"Clever. You used the sword as a shovel to help to climb out," Scylla commented. "But that's just luck. You can't avoid the same thing twice."
She raised her right arm in the same sweeping motion.
"But you can't use the same attacks twice."
"What?" Scylla stared in disbelief as Mamoru jumped out of the way of the wind.
Still holding the sword, ignoring the heated metal handle, Mamoru stood facing Scylla once more.
"Oh, it looks like we're going back to the beginning again."
"Who is that?" Mamoru asked.
